About BlueJay Creative

Hi, I'm Jessica Hawkins, owner and principal designer of BlueJay Creative. I believe that graphic design is, at its essence, problem solving. And like all problem solving, the most elegant design solutions are the simplest.

I have a broad range of experience (in-house designer, freelance designer, media buyer, and public relations), which allows me to approach projects holistically. In past job experiences I've even been on the client side of graphic design, so I know first-hand the necessity of staying on budget and on time.

Just as a good writer benefits from expanding his vocabulary, so too a good designer is always looking for ways to add to his visual vocabulary. To this end, I am currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Communication Design at Louisiana Tech University.

I currently live in Shreveport, Louisiana with my husband, John, and our three year-old puggle (that's a beagle +pug), Molly.
